This is the large earthworm found in the deeper soil in the garden, its our biggest worm and has a flattened tail. It lives in deep soil and prefers to be undisturbed, use in deep flower or shrub beds where the soil is good, regularly mulched and preferably with a no dig policy, its often the one seen being tugged out of its burrow by the Blackbirds!
